Working with Clay.

We are awesome little artists! We are learning how to work with clay.

One of our favourite New Zeland authors is Joy Cowley and we love her stories about Greedy Cat.
We had a go had making Greedy Cat faces out of clay. It is a lot harder than you think!

Look at us! We got clay all over our hands!

We loved experimenting with the clay.

Look at our creations drying in the sun.
The clay faces really do look like little Greedy Cats.

Daffodil Art.

We made some daffodil art to celebrate Daffodil Day. We made some colourful flowers and some cute little lambs as well. Our art work is on display in the National Bank, Te Awamutu. If you are passing by, be sure to stop in and see it.

Do you like our art work?

The daffodils were quite easy to make you know!

We loved making the little lambs and sticking the fluff on to them!

We hope you go to the bank and see our art work on display.

Snow Art!

We made some art work about the snow! We drew portraits of ourselves and cut them out. Then we made snow out of fluff and glued it on to our posters. We had lots of fun making the snow fluff and we got it everywhere! It went all over the tables and all over the floor and all over the room! It was very funny!
We did lots of thinking too and came up with heaps of words to describe our feelings about seeing the snow at our school.

Do you like our art work?

Look at us! We loved playing in the snow!

Snow here, snow there, snow, snow everywhere!

Look at us making our awesome art work!
We don't think it will snow here again for a while. Today is very sunny and beautiful!
What do you think?

Snow at Ngutunui!

Today it snowed at school!
Everyone was arriving at school in the morning and it started to snow!
Unbelievable! It never snows at school! Some of us had never seen snow before or been outside in it! It was so exciting! What a great Monday morning it was.

Some of the kids were so excited that they went running outside in the snow. They were laughing and having fun in the winter weather. Mount Pirongia had a little bit of snow on it and it looked like icing sugar dusted on it! We are wondering if it will snow again tomorrow as well.

Our Masks.

We made some masks. Some of us look scary and some of us look cute!
We love wearing our masks and pretending!
Do you think we made a great job of them?
Can you tell who we are?

Planting At Scott's Reserve.

We went to Scott's Reserve and did some native planting. We helped some members of the Forest and Bird Protection Society to plant lots and lots of trees.
We love helping to make our environment better. We love getting our hands dirty and making a difference. We have green fingers!

The Welcome In - Fiona's Solo!

Fiona sang a solo of the song called Ben.
She is an amazing singer. She is still a little shy and was nervous, but did so very well to perform in front of everybody at our Welcome In Concert. Some grown-ups can't even sing in front of people!
We hope you love listening to her.

Well done Fiona. We are very, very proud of you!

The Welcome In.

We love singing!

If you’re blue and you don’t know where to go to,
why don’t you go where fashion sits…
Puttin’ on the Ritz!"

Look out Fred Astaire! Here comes Jordan!

I love ya.
You only a day away!"

Taylor is Annie! Look at her funny hair!

Thank You to Our E-Pals!

We made some pop-up cards and a special poster for our e-pals. We made little cardboard figures of ourselves and our friends and the teachers too. We had lots of fun sticking on the hair and the eyes and the clothes. Do you like our little people?
