Monarch Butterflies.

We planted tiny, tiny swan plant seeds last year and they grew into big plants. We love having a butterfly garden at school. We rescued lots of chrysalises and put them in our classroom. Lots and lots of butterflies hatched out and we set them free.

  1. Here in Palmerston North they have a garden at the Esplanade with lots of dahlia flowers. The monarch butterflies seem to love them, especially the golden and yellow ones. I never knew monarchs loved dahlia flowers so much before.

  2. You really are "Enviro Kids" - congratulations on helping so many beautiful monarch butterflies to enter our world safely! I love your butterfly slideshow :)
