A Cheeky Rabbit and Our Lettuces!

Today we planted some more lettuce plants because a cheeky rabbit has been nibbling our other lettuce plants. The sun was shining and it was very warm outside so we had to water the plants too.

When we watered the plants we were very careful to not damage them.
We watered onto our hands and let the water trickle through our fingers and on to the plants safely. We love gardening at school!

  1. I wonder if that cheeky rabbit's name was Peter?

  2. Drat that rabbit :( After we had planted our first vege garden at Hauturu School nearly everything was eaten by sheep! Someone had left a gate open and they enjoyed munching on all our healthy green seedlings - Oh No! We also have lots of possums around our school and we have to work hard to stop them eating our veges before we do. Keep up the good gardening work :) from Mrs. C

  3. Hello Mrs Reid,

We don't know what that cheeky rabbit's name was!
Some of us know about the story of Peter Rabbit in Mr McGregor's garden.
But if we saw the rabbit again, we would chase him away. We don't want him eating any more of our lettuces!

    Hello Mrs C.,

We haven't had any sheep in our gardens, but last year some cows got loose from the farm up the road and came to school and trampled our plants and ate all our vegetables that were growing in our gardens. Then they pooed all over the field!
